Product Innovation

Background

Real product breakthroughs often need a different viewpoint and another set of eyes. Innovation comes from new ideas, fresh ideas and often a new perspective. An interim executive can bring that fresh viewpoint, all while leveraging the existing team and talents.

We had a fun Interim Executive assignment that started this way, per the CEO  -- "we have built a unique and new product - that may be successful in a market that we may want to play in...or not. Can you come in, help us assess both of those and be OK if we decide not to move forward?"

At Interim HealthTech Leaders we eagerly said "yes"! Why?

We believe that true product innovation occurs with appropriate risk taking including the ability to fail -- as a matter of fact maybe the ability to actually fail should be part of the going in proposition. We understand that puts the company, the people and the organization at risk -- and often suggests that an outside view without a stake in the ultimate outcome is perhaps the purest way to arrive at the answer.

We've done this before and have helped people like YOU arrive at the right answer -- yes is often preferable, but you need to be certain that "no" IS acceptable to the leader of your organization, project and team! This is where an Interim can often make the difference. It is hard to say no when your job may depend on it!
